Someone mentioned "entry level" Porsche and I'm too lazy to see who -it doesn't matter. Even the Boxter is quite huge leap ahead of previous models - even 911 models. It's not like an entry level 914 or something nowadays. The new Cayman also sorted out the rear suspension issues on the 2014 and is radically improved - its like a 2005 to 2010 jump in XKR's.

I think the new Cayman is really sharp looking. And still can't hold a candle to the XK! Look at that picture of the red Cayman: there is no poetry in its lines, its a handsome, charmless machine. I look at the XK from every angle - inside and out too - and feel something.

I am definitely not going to knock the 981 Cayman as it is a beautiful car and really fun to drive. But after test driving it 5 times and reading all the issues on their forum, I decided to back off and focus only on the XK. It was not an easy decision.

Yahoo!

Yahoo's 2014 Best Cars of the Year.

All around #1 - 2014 Stingray.

Best Roadster - Jaguar F-type

Best Sports Car - Porsche Cayman (not that antiquated 911)

Good video footage of F-type power.

Enjoy,

Albert

Default Cayman/Boxster if you push to the limit; XK/XKR if you dont

I spent some track time this summer, thank you Porsche, that involved Cayman, 911 4, Cayman S, and 911 4 s. In that order, last day of their tour and the last session. The Cayman base is good, Cayman S better than 911 4.

When I had a Boxster, it was a supremely great car for spirited city driving and canyon carving. Only way to get better was to go Ferrari. Highway not as good as Jag.

If you don't care to push your car to the absolute limit, then go for the Jags. I like both.
