Default Power Backrest Recline not working

Hi Guys:

Just received the 2012 XKR Convertible that I purchased and just checking everything works.

The driver's side power recline did not work, either backwards or forwards. All other seat controls work.

I checked old threads and it appeared that the problem would probably be caused by the seat module needing repair.

The next day, it started working but stopped working again a few hours later. I then held the recline switch down and, after about 4 seconds, it started working again.

Would you experienced guys still be leaning towards a seat module issue or could it be the switch on the door having contacts issues or something else??

If you suspect the switch on the door, are the contacts accessible or is it a sealed unit?

Thanks, so much.

Roger

The same thing happened to me when i first got my 2007. The seat is not at fault.. My battery was substandard at the time. I eventually changed it. Because I had to get a second key programmed, the dealer reset the computer vis a vis the seat back "I think". With more knowledge now I, suggest you fully top up your battery, because you say the problem comes and goes.
There are other things that can be done by you.
