Default power fold mirrors

Hey Guys,
My '08 XK-R, supposedly, has power fold mirrors. I don't see how to make them fold. I tried a search here without any success. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks....happy motoring.

That I know of, the US models (1st generation) did not get them.

In my 2007 XKR convert. you push both buttons for left and right mirror simultaneously. Then both mirrors fold towards the windows.

Dear Powerhouse, there are 2 buttons beside of the mini-joystick with which you can adjust your mirrors. One for right mirror adjustment, one for left. Push both of these buttons simultaneously and your mirrors will fold. Inwards or outwards depending on their current position.

And the next question will be "Can I retrofit European mirrors to my US car?"
Answer = "Money talks, but for us normal folks, No."

Autofolding of your mirrors depends wether Jaguar has set the options in your touchscreen. In some cases your Jaguar dealer can activate this option (costs money of course).

Now let me understand this correctly - would all 2007 XKR's have this feature? Was it an option in the US or abroad?
Just wanting to understand.

Thanks

On my 2008 xk vert the folding mirrors worked as well as they do on my 2012 vert. I think you have to go into one of the control screens to set a "master" and then activate them by hitting the two buttons on either side of the the mirror control toggle simultaneously.

The USA folks for the 07 model year don't have this option. But the 08 up does. This is what I can tell from research. My 07 doesn't have them and it cannot be turned on. When I manually fold my mirrors in, I can't feel a motor or anything restricting it.

The bit that you turn on & off in the car's control system is 'autofold', which parks the mirrors when you lock the car. If the powerfold system is fitted, you can activate autofold so the mirrors always tuck in, or just press both buttons at once when you need it. I don't use autofold - I feel it puts unnecessary wear & tear on the motors, since most of the time I park my car off the street.

On my 2009 XKR, the control to turn "on" and "off" the folding mirrors is in the navigation screen. It is a simple on button push.

Mirrors fold "in" when car is shut off, fold "out" when car is turned on. They work perfectly.

Hi Rich,
When the dbl "push" buttons failed to fold the mirrors, I entered the Nav screen, to the location to turn on or off the folding feature and the feature was not listed. So, does this mean, there's a programing thing that has to take place? I would think the "Portfolio" models would have this feature?
