Did my install this morning using the 5th Generation projectors with Cree LED.

The install was quite easy, and I decided to solder the wiring. Total time about 1 hour. The second door went much faster.

This is a great add-on to the ambience of the Jaguar brand. They look so neat/nice in the dark, very classy and very unique.

Great price on eBay for under $20.00 and great enhancement to the brand.

Whoever thought of this great idea gets an AAA+ from me, and is probably a millionaire by now. Great invention.

Fun job and easier than what I thought. Only con is the ultra thin wiring. Highly suggest soldering the wires to the main wires connected to the courtesy light.

5th Gen Car Laser Projector Logo Ghost Shadow Door Step LED Light for Jaguar | eBay

I highly recommend this specific product.

Default Great Product

I've had them on my Jag for over a year and have received nothing but rave reviews from everyone who's seen them so far ... including a cop! My question to all of you who have them on your own cat is ... be honest ... how much would you have been willing to pay for them ... now that you've seen for yourself how unique and how @%#&'in cool they look? $50? $100? $150? More? I have to admit, I would have ponied up $250 for a pair.

Default 2008 XKR Portfolio

My wife and I took the Jag to dinner last night, we were the guests of my Docter who is a member of Oakland Hills C.C.. The golfers will know it as the home of several U.S. Opens and Ryder Cup. They see many great cars there but the valet were showing each other the puddle lights. They had not seen anything like it. The other guests were very impressed because no one had seen anything like that before. As Sinde72 says thats a lot of bang for 20 bucks.

Just put mine in my 07. 30 minutes start to finish. Anybody with a nickel's worth of mechanical ability can do it.....go for it. Can't wait for the sun to go down. By the way, I used quick splice connectors from Home Depot, $3.50 for a pack of five (like you use to tap into the harness when adding a trailer light plug). Hardest part was getting my fat fingers through the courtesy light hole to thread on the lock ring(s). Any specific questions feel free to message me.

Ordered some a while back and received nothing but a "pre-shipment" tracking number and a lame excuse when I inquired about my order. Wasn't expecting that from a seller with that kind of feedback...

Which Tyco quick splice connector did you use?

RED 20-18AWG Tyco Electronics Splice Tap Connectors Nylon 20-18 AWG, 5/Clam-CPGI-53440-9-5 at The Home Depot

or

BLUE 18-14AWG Tyco Electronics Splice Tap Connectors Nylon 18-14 AWG, 5/Clam-CPGI-53440-7-5 at The Home Depot

Since the puddle light wires are very thin, I suspect you used the RED smaller size 20-18AWG. I don't have a wire stripper or wire gauge, so I'll bring a puddle light in to HD and measure the wire just to be sure which splice connector to buy.

Great suggestion - sure beats cutting wires and stripping and soldering them. Fast and a good, solid insulated connection.

Okay, I used similar but different (see link) Red ones I bought were listed as 18-22ga, perfect for the Jag courtesy light wires BUT!!! the freaking wires on the led are indeed too small for even the red ones. If you close the blades on the quick splice they will bite into the insulation but not enough to go through it and make a connection. So I stripped off about one inch on each of the red and black wires from the LEDs. just heated it quickly with a lighter and pinched it between my thumb nail and forefinger and pulled to remove the insulation. I then folded the exposed wire in half back onto itself, then half again. so I then have about a quarter inch of copper, 4X thick, that I then folded back alongside the insulation, so when I drove the little blade down it grabs the insulation fine (it ain't commin off) and there is plenty of copper for the connection.

Same guy I ordered from. It's been 10 days now and the only communication I've received is "I don't know what happened. Maybe I didn't ship it, maybe it's at the post office. I don't know".

Confidence inspiring....at least it's only $20 but, it sucks having to open an e-bay dispute to get your money back.

Did you not have to remove the door panel? I was wondering if you could just pop out the courtesy light and work that way but I haven't really looked at it yet.

eBay Resolution Center works great. Just go to the order and contact seller that you have not received item. Open a case.

If you don't get it delivered by the date that eBay states you will get a refund from eBay.

The resolution center has always worked for me. The process is so easy.

I had no problem with my order from this seller.

Wires are quite thin....22-24 gauge....if your using taps....be sure to get the proper tap and make sure it locks securely in place.

E-bay is usually quick to fix this kind of stuff. I've never had any issues getting a refund once they get involved.

His response just surprised me considering his excellent feedback profile. I'll give it a few more days and see what happens.

Yes that is what I did, pop the courtesy light, reached in and felt around. Drilled a hole about an inch in front of the courtesy light, moved the drill bit around in the hole abit as it is very tight and the threaded part of the puddle light did not fit through. The inserted the puddle light and screwed it on lightly, connected the wires, opened the door and adjusted the projection and screwed it tight.
