Default To pump or flow? That is the question

2015 XK-R questions
1. I’m getting ready to do a lower pulley upgrade- who has the larger/best one for the $?

2. Do I need an ECU tune? Who and best bang for the buck?

3. Upgrade the intercooler pump? Bosch, zzp or?

4. Upgrade to aluminum radiator and SC Intercooler? Or one or neither?

5. Upgrade the entire cooling system? Saw a whole kit for $396… (See picture below) or does someone have a list of better parts individually or what should I upgrade and what is useless? Just trying to eliminate future issues.

6. Want a little better sound, but don’t want to sound like a mustang. X pipe and just delete the center muffler? I want to keep the jag sound, just make it louder. I’ve pulled fuse 19 already.

*thanks all for the time and knowledge answering these questions - looking forward to a consensus somewhat. Once I get options I’ll post a poll. Hopefully put it in a sticky because I know those questions get asked all the time!

I'll have a bash at questions 1 and 2:

1. The only two reliable/good rep larger crank pulleys I know of are Velocity AP (VAP) and Euro Toys, and AFAIK they are the exact same size.
Quality is pretty much identical, prices are similar but vary as each is on sale / on special from time to time, so shop around.
I don't think Viezu (a well known and reputable tuner including the AJ133 SC) sells a larger crank pulley, well not at least according to their web site, instead they offer a smaller SC snout pulley.

2. Yes you will need a tune to get any real benefit from a larger crank pulley.
VAP, Eurotoys and Viezu all offer such a tune, again the extent of the tune (ie max power/torque), safety, reliability, price etc vary a bit but are all in the same ballpark so again shop around.

thank you! Can anyone speak to Mina Galleries lower pulley? And if I just wanted a 10-12% +/- 1-3% gain, could I forgo the tune? Would it hurt the engine without the re-mapping? I can live going from 510hp to 540-560hp approx.

If that is all you want I suggest you look at a VAP ECU tune by itself, no need for any pulley upgrade.
This will take your car from 510 hp to 565 hp, see here: https://www.velocityap.com/product/j...so-ecu-tuning/
The beauty of this option is that you install the tune yourself in the comfort of your own garage, no need to take the car to a shop/tuner.
Also it's the cheapest option and you don't have to fuss with (or pay for!) a crank pulley or fitting labour.
