I fully accept a dealer will price things at a premium. My dealer is literally in the building next to my office, so I consider the premium the cost for that
kind of convenience. Always a loaner, choice of fleet other than R's of any model, and always presented with a detailed serviced car.

I also understand less cars are being sold and overhead doesn't evaporate with sales. It is a business.

But, quoting me $1300 to change a front upper shock mount is just obscene. Had I the time and space, it looks like an hour or two max...and I'd be doing
it with air, so the hand-tool struggle wouldn't be an issue. But I don't have the time, or space, and I definitely ain't dropping $1300 on the swap out.

Next stop, to see if my old Beemer indie wants to expand his range.
