Rear view mirror
Did a few searches which came up empty.
On my 5.5 hour drive yesterday, I started getting a mild eye/headache.
Then I was trying to read something in the rear view and noticed it was shaking slightly.
i could put my hand on it gently and it would stop.
Is this just a simple tightening of a screw or something?
3 more hours of driving today and at a hotel, so won’t have time to look at it now.
but would love to find out it’s something somple
from when I get home.
Also (vert) wtf with the trunk space??
Guess a couple bags are going in the back seat.

If memory serves and it rarely does, the mirror cover surrounding the stem snaps in and out at the top and bottom. The mount is glued to the glass and the stem slides down on it. There’s probably a set screw. Let us know if I’m close.
Didn’t look at the manual, but a quick forum search showed a lot of pink and the bottle said European and JLR on it. Oh and the stuff in the res was pink, so I felt safe with it.

when I had my cracked screen changed a couple of years ago I cannot remember the fitter removing the rear view mirror
He definitely removed the cover but the I seem to think the mirror stayed in situ
Same on Saddleback, have tons of their stuff. Tried them all and it is the best in the world hands down.

As long as Pink is already in there, you are correct. I'd leave it. When I started to bring the XKR home from Indy, it needed coolant. They started to add pink. I grabbed the manual. Orange. There's so much stuff out there on coolants, I've just given up and put in what the manual says. Yours may have come from the factory with Pink or already been changed.
Good luck with it. You are in the right place for info.
The coolant used on Jaguars since 1996 is OAT. It's sold in both orange and pink.
"The color of coolant is simply dye and provides no function or distinction between coolant types. However, OEMs use different dye colors for specific vehicles to convince customers that they need to buy OEM-approved coolants."
ASTM D3306 is the standard for passenger cars. Your bottle should say both ASTM D3306 and must say OAT on the bottle. Not IAT, Not HOAT, Not OATS, Not "hey works like OAT." Some IAT coolants do come in pink or violet. They are inorganic and not to be mixed with OAT.
@Circumnavigator , if it were me, I would match OAT and color. Once you flush the coolant system, you can use any type of coolant you want, so long as you do a complete flush. When I last did my flush, I went with Dexcool. Dexcool, which is often confused as a type of coolant is merely a specific brand name of OAT coolant. Prior to that, the original owner had pink OEM coolant per the maintenance records.
Also, let me know how the mirror is mounted please. I may have been thinking about my wife's last car.

Here is what I bought. It was above the MIN line, but I removed the cap and topped it to the internal MAX spot.
I have an original quart bottle of Jaguar Antifreeze and it says on the label... Passes ASTM D3306. ..God only knows what a quart would cost at Jaguar these days. Part # JLM209722. It seems that it is no longer available...at least with that part number. FYI... It's orange.

I keep an eye on the max internal level marking within the reservoir every morning before I take my Jag out. It serves as a fairly accurate way of determining the degree of any loss of fluid which is crucial with our vulnerable cooling systems.
So when I had the PPI done trans and engine mounts were ‘weeping/leaky’ a bit.
Just read a dozen threads on the mounts and many of the threads mentioned vibration as a symptom.
I may need to make getting the mounts done a priority over the small coolant res leak.
Def not a DIY for me from what I’ve read.
