Anyhow they are Alpena purchased from Advance Auto using a 40% off coupon. They feature a white background with 5030 SMDs and are blindingly bright.

I mounted them inside the lens behind the existing frosted rim around the edge of the lens to help give them a more diffuse light. The goal was to replicate the look of the 2012+ headlights. The wiring is spliced into the running lights so when they are on, the LEDs are on.

Here's another pic. I have not had the car out at night since I did it but would like to post pics once I do.

I was going to install LED lights in my old 175. I, also, had a hard time searching for suitable lights. Kudos to you for doing this. It looks fantastic!

Here are some night pics. Very hard to photograph but they are about the same as the 2012+ XF in LED spacing/style and brightness though now my HIDs look too warm! The LEDs are white but a bit cooler in color temp. May have to deviate from the OEM spec to a cooler head lamp.

I got the above badge, has two plastic small bars coming out the back and also sticky taped back, what screws in?? do these 2 differently shaped bars fit into the original badge mount, they obviously stick into the mount for the new jags? need to know before I decide to take it to body shop to drop the bumper. thx

Interesting , I assume you are looking to put this on your 2010? Keep us posted on what you discover. I also wonder if there is a change with the 2012

Ditto Powerhouse, am interested in those PNs, as well. Looked on Alpena site too.

I was planning on buying the red badge, got lazy, and took a small pointed paint brush and the leftover red caliper paint (from my 2002XKR) and painted over the black. Took approximately five minutes, looks great (unless you get real close, I haven't had the time to clean the little bits of over painting) and no grill removal. Too dark for pictures tonight, I'll take some tomorrow afternoon.

I was thinking about the same when I painted my calipers red. Of course, missed my chance and have no more red caliper paint left over. Curious to see some pictures of yours.

I still wonder if the 2010 models have the glued-in growler vs. the one installed with screws on previous year models. I seem to recall people saying they removed it just by heating it and carefully prying at it.

On the new badge there should be a hole right in the middle for a screw. I used a self tapping one that is slightly longer than the one used on the old badge. Since you will be cutting off most of the old badge mount to make it level, the alignment tabs don't matter.

ok, there is an allen type nut in the middle with a depression in it about 3mm. no way I am going to get a screw to thread in there, could glue a nut or two over it and screw into these. how long of a screw does it need?

Picture of painted growler (using leftover duplo red caliper paint) as promised. (The red next to the J is just a reflection, not my sloppy paint)

that looks pretty good but the growler on the 09 is totally different and not amendable to painting. The growler on the 09 is more of a ***** than a jaguar!

Default happy ending

Bit the bullet and went to my bodyshop guy today. He removed old badge, ground down mount and attached new growler flush WITHOUT having to remove the bumper! Took less than an hr and charged me $0! Was so happy he didn't have to remove bumper with a zillion clips and screws he did it for nothing. I think it looks awesome. I got the red wheel caps from ebay to complete the package. Included pix of old badge. Thanks for all your help and suggestions. Will post pix on next post

Looks great! Much better than the "*****" looking black one. I put the red hub caps on my wheels as well.

I also painted the Torx bolts on the wheels red, it may be overkill.

Okay I went over to the bodyshop today. They put the car on the lift, removed the splash guard below ( ? 6 clips ) and then was able to get to back of grill and unscrew original growler badge and remove it, said it was tight but did it.
I put this on the other thread also.
