Default Remote radar display head installation in Rear view Mirror question...

Good day all. I have installed an Escort 9500ci in my XKR convertible. To keep the visibility as well as changes to the car to a minimum I have installed using existing elements on the car. For instance I installed the GPS antenna for the unit in the antenna housing on the trunk with the car GPS antenna...btw it was a little bit of a challenge..but there is now no visible GPS antenna for the radar unit.
The Unit also has a display head unit that I am installing IN the rear view mirror that will appear when finished to look like a rear view mirror with a compass or temperature display but is in fact the radar display head unit. At any rate there is some sort of antenna mounted on the back of the rear view mirror (physically mounted to the actual back of the glass mirror itself and is a translucent plastic that is about the size of the mirror itself) and I was wondering if anyone knew what this antenna is for?
Thanks
Guy

Cool Escort 9500CI

I have a 2003 XKR and want to install this unit as well. Any pics or your install? Where did you install the 3 black boxes up front? Will they work if you put them behind the grill? Is it worth th $1550.00 plus installation?
