Removing seat cushions?
Does anyone know how to remove a front seat cushion to retrieve something that has fallen underneath?
It seems like it might be designed to lift out but I don't want to just start yanking on it and risk breaking something.
Who knows, maybe I'll find a Christmas bonus ($$) from a previous owner down there?

Depending on what you're trying to retrieve, you may or may not need to remove the seat cushion. I've had great success using a flexible 4-claw pick-up tool like this one on Amazon.com for $3.00:
Amazon.com: OEM 25291 Four Claw Pick Up Tool: Home Improvement

Thanks. I guess I'll try that. I can't believe that nobody has had a seat cushion out.
AirCav,
Can't remember my last jaguar that had a removal seat; maybe the XK140 that I bought in 1960! Even with my 1968 E Type you had to remove whole seat assembly.
just move seat way fwd and remove rear screws and then seat way fwd and remove rear screws; there are electrical connections underneath too............
Remember Jaguar installs seats with a small crane and no door!!!
Just poke it out.................you could turn car over and shake it but much more difficult...................
Merry Christmas...........Adrian

I've yet to see a seat where you could remove just the cushion. Even in my old 911 you have to remove the whole seat consisting of eight bolts. I would think that you should be able to move the seat enough in order to retrieve your lost item.
Alright, I'll give up on that notion.
I thought it looked like it might use some sort of a retaining device like some back seats do. You compress the cushion in the correct spot and it disengages the cushion assembly from the frame and allows removal. Oh well.
Merry Christmas!
