Follow the procedure in the JTIS Workshop Manual to drain and refill with antifreeze of the correct specification.

You do not state the number of kilometres/miles on the vehicle, but it is a good idea on the 2007 XK NA to replace the outlet pipe containing the thermostat as they are made of plastic and prone to cracking. The new assembly contains the thermostat and thermostat seal.

NBCat, Do you recommend also changing the water pump?

I have 43K on mine and was going to do the coolant change and above mentioned thermostat assembly at 50K.

Just wondering as I had the 97 before and I'm sure you were aware of the water pump issues we had.

Thanks for any input.

You can pressure test the system when cold and see if there is any pressure loss through a leak from the water pump seal. I you smell coolant after driving, or there is a loss of coolant, it may be the water pump or the thermostat outlet pipe.

When you remove the outlet pipe, inspect the water pump for signs of leakage and replace it as needed. If you work on the vehicle yourself, it may be better to just replace the pump as some of the labour includes removal of the outlet pipe.
