Default Replacement front wheel stud or hub assembly

Hello folks,

When the shop replaced the tire on the front-right wheel (19" Carelia) of my '07 XK one of the lug nuts along with a piece of the stud snapped off...I looked at previous threads and while there is some mention of Dorman 610-414 and some indication that XR853331 *may* fit the XK I could't find confirmation of any suitable off-the-shelf replacement...looks like the common feedback is that I would have to replace the whole hub assembly. Dealer wants to charge for $1000+ for the assembly...

I did see several mentions of Duralast as well as Moog & Timken (all with a similar part #, 590426). Can anyone confirm if these are identical or suitable replacement to/for OEM?

Thanks for any help!

Where I am, I see alternatives from Vaico, Triscan, Moog, etc. and would be fine with any of these. There seems to be two part numbers:

C2D38988 < VIN B32752 > C2D49191

The earlier ones are a little more expensive but still only around 140€ vs 110€ for the newer one.

Your only worry should be that the dealer has one available ....... what it costs is the tyre shop's worry. However, if the circumstances are that you will end up paying then you will want the lowest cost option.

A replacement hub is the quickest solution. The studs are splined and a broken one can be replaced but the hub has to be dismantled to do this. See post #3 in this thread for stud specification and P/N:

If you will be doing the paying, dismantling and assembly, a $5 stud has a lot of attractions.
