So one of my studs (RR) is chipped off, I have about 15% of it left, pressure is on for the remaining four!
had a couple guys at a local auto cross event look at it as I was about to track it and they stopped me post inspection.
they said “replace the stud”, as I did some online digging I realize most owners replaced the entire hub assembly including the 5 studs instead of the single stud. I also recall an ex Jaguar tech mentioning that to me as well (replace the hub)
what do you guys think? Anybody gone through this?
appreciate your expertise in advance.
Replacing the entire hub is faster but more expensive. Replacing the broken stud is cheaper but requires more work.
Make your choice? Will you be doing the work? For me since I DIY I just remove the hub and swap the broken stud. I don't believe Jaguar sells just the stud but they are a common item so not hard to find from non-Jaguar sources.

Can I replace just the stud alone? I’ve attached a SS of someone stating you can’t replace the studs alone.
I just literally placed an order for the hub, and no I’ll have somebody do the work for me.
Yes studs are replaceable. Yes the hub needs to removed to press the stud in and out.
None of this has changed in the last 60+ years or so?
It's a common repair and does not require the dealer or Jaguar in any way.
Again read what I posted above.
Yes it's easier to replace the hub BUT it is more expensive.
It's cheaper to replace the stud BUT requires more work on your part.
Make your choice?
