Default Replacing side lights and number plate lights

Hi everyone

I was about to purchase new LEDs for my side marker lights and rear number plate lights as current ones are orange and dim for my XKR 2007 but I'm now doubting myself as I'm new to this car. The handbook says WY5W bulbs for the side lights and W5WL for the number plate - can't seem to find them online. I'm probably just being an idiot!

Please could someone help me find LEDs online for both of these parts?

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks, is there no different between W5W and the W5WL? or the WY5W?

The designations are for the size and bulb colour. So WY5W is a bulb emitting yellow light.

Oh man that makes so much sense! Thanks!

So does that mean it HAS to be yellow? Because looking at the side light... it looks pretty horrid in yellow - a nice crisp LED would look much better.

When you say it looks ‘horrid’, is that with the lamp on or off?
A yellow LED lamp, when off, probably looks like a white LED lamp that is off.
If changing the ‘on’ color from yellow to white, you might want to check to see if the lamp can legally by white.

Done it!
I have changed the parking lightbulb and orange sidelight to nice crisp white leds and looks much better.:-)
Changed the indicator lightbulbs to those mirror glas one's which turn orange when lid.

Make sure the led bulbs have Canbus or you will get bulb failure on the dash.
