Restricted Performance Amber Warning Light
My 2005 Jaguar XKR has given me this warning (Restricted Performance Amber Warning Light). It has gone off and then reappeared. I took it to a Jaguar Specialist and they did the diagnostics check on it and said that the motor mounts need to be replaced. Does this car have sensors on the motor mounts that would send out this warning or is it another issue. I am not sure how motor mounts could give a restricted performance message. Can someone tell me if this can be an issue.. If it is in need of motor mounts, what would be a reasonable repair cost in Florida USA. Thanks in advance for your input.

Before going any further, use a voltmeter to check the available voltage across the battery terminals with the ignition in the OFF position for at least 30 minutes. There should be a minimum of 12.6 volts indicated on the voltmeter. If not, charge the battery for five hours at 2 to 5 amps and retest. If the voltmeter still shows less than 12.6 volts, the battery is suspect and should be replaced prior to proceeding with any further diagnosis.
Many of the random DTCs and instrument cluster warnings are the result of a failing or weak battery.
The engine mount are fluid filled and need to be replaced when the fluid is leaking, or has leaked out. They are not electronically controlled.

Your 2005 XKR is a different model than the X150 that this particular forum is for.
You'll want the X100 forum, that's where your car is featured.
Those years are prone to the Throttle Body having problems and requiring a replacement, although of course I don't know your specific cause.
Engine mounts, if they are bad enough, will allow the engine to twist in the bay, sometimes tearing various hose, lines and tubes. Check everything that may be damaged. Also, have the codes checked.
