Default Restricted performance warning

About 3 weeks ago, after stopping at a gas station to fill my tank, as soon as I started the car I got the big yellow "restricted performance" warning in the center message centter on my dash. As I was about 15 miles from home, I got on the freeway (as the warning is amber and not red) to get home. About 5 minutes later the warning disappeared and did not return til today. Interestingly, I filled my car this morning as well, but this happened about 15 minutes after I left the station. Again, after about 5 to 7 minutes of driving, the warning disappeared while I was on my way to my mechanic. When I got there although the warning had disappeared, we plugged in code reader to see what was in its history. I had two codes:
1) P2601 Coolant pump control-circuit range/performance
2) B10AC Speed Control switch

Any ideas?

First try the Coolant Pump control, then the Speed Control Switch.

A forum search for P2601 seems to point at the intercooler (supercharger) water pump.

Indeed. The SC has an extra pump, whose failure is usually the cause of P2601. (Detected by IAT2 being hotter than expected.)

The cars reduces power (quite a bit).

Thanks for the replies. I had looked it up on this great forum and found the same thing. First I checked the fuse to the pump, and it was fine. I picked up my 2002 XKR, yesterday, (new steering rack), and today my 2010 goes in. Almost like the old cliche that you need to have two British cars, one to drive you to pick up the other one from service.

Since there are two episodes of fuel refilling associated with the warning lights I would first suspect something very, very simple: that you have not properly tightened the fuel cap (several clicks) or that the seal is not intact - despite the codes thrown.
