Default Restricted Performance XKR 2009

Hello guys,

I've posted an earlier thread regarding the coolant leak and the car would go into restricted performance. I was able to get that fixed, done the pressure test and all was fine.

Took the car from the garage for a spin, it was okay, till i thought of giving it a punch and kicked the pedal all the way. The car acceleration was good, once i settled the car down, the restricted performance came up again for a minute or so and went away, but the car still drove in a limp till i turned it off and back on then ran alright.

I went back to the Garage, and they found the below codes in the history:
1- P2601-00 (Coolant Pump control circuit range / performance - history) .. I read a lot of threads about this, and all was mentioning the SC coolant pump and suggesting the bosch one, however it will need some modification to work. but the treads were couple of years old, is there any update on this subject and is there any other newer models in place now? - I've checked the price of the original one in the dealership here and its around USD 1,000 (What !!).

2- U0405-8F (Invalid data sent from speed control module - intermittent) .. i read before that this can be ignored and would not trigger the RP, is that right?

3- P0122-00 (Throttle / Pedal position sensor A circuit input low - history) and P0222-00 (Throttle / Pedal position sensor B circuit input low - history) .. The garage is telling me that they will need to change the sensors, the gas pedal and the throttle!! .. is all of this really necessary?, i read that cleaning them, checking the wires or just changing the sensor should do it, why changing pedal and throttle?

Do codes no. 2 and 3 above can trigger RP? or just no.1?

and what are the symptoms of no 2 and 3 being bad?

Appreciate the help guys. Thanks,

I think P0122-00 and P0222-00 would be more related to your Restricted Performance. The best way to clean the TB is just use a towel or rag with no solvents on it. Solvents will take the coating off.

The cover for the TPS, can drill a small hole in top and bottom, spray some contact cleaner inside. Do the same on your pedal position sensor, have done this before in the past and has worked. If it returns straight away then you " may " have a fault with wiring, or the actual sensors themselves.

Thanks for the advice.

The guy in the Garage told me that he'll clear the history first, and try and drive the car for a week or so, if the fault came back, then we can investigate more.

I've been driving since, and till now the error did not come back yet (drove over 150 miles so far). I don't know what that means, surely the car didn't fix itself.

I'll wait till the RP comes up again, and i'll do what you said.

I'll report back with updates on the issue.
