Default ROUND 2: AMV12 Vantage vs. XKR-S GT

Round 2 goes to the Aston Martin V12 Vantage according to Autocar.

C63 Black Series shouldn't have been included in the test as it's price closer to the XKR-S than the V12V or XKR-S GT.

The laggy transmission in the Aston would be enough to ruin it for me, no matter what other qualities it had.

Octurbo,
I caught the one reference to the track's wetness and figured the same as you. How on earth could there have been such a difference from one test to the other. If wetness is factored in, then you might as well throw in any Audi from the TT on up through the S or RS 5 to the R8, and all of them with 4 wheel drive would have wound up the winner. It's just dumb to run a track test on a wet track, as consumers who also track their cars are not going to do it in the wet. I made the mistake once with my Pantera on a wet Infineon (Sonoma) track, and after 2 spinouts and near misses on my second lap, I vowed never to do it again. Besides, I believe a tried and true race driver before I'd trust an auto journalist.

I was thinking the same. Such a big difference from one test to the other. I will trust the professional driver view before i trust some reviewer's who is driving sideways to achieve best lap time.

It's quite stupid to run a test lap in a wet, when the cars are so similarly matched. One would never reach their actual limits.

XKRS-GT would terrorize the AM on dry pavement.
