The ride is different that your XJ as your XJ has air suspension. You will love the car though. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Actually my XJR had the air ride cats system replaced with coilovers but I'm sure there will be many differences. Looking forward to it.

Fair enough, I will agree with that change! It is fortunate that when folks log in they are greeted with a forum community that has an anchor of class acts willing to give their incredible depth of knowledge and long historical context derived from many years of Jag ownership. Not just this car but usually back through classics. It never ceases to amaze me how much some of these guys know and how long they have been immersed in the brand. With my paltry four years I know nothing.

So yes, very fortunate.

Only 3 years for me...but im thrilled to have enough actuator/ airbag / aircon / brakes experience to be able to help some people .
Still got a long long way to go

Default I love her??

LOL. If you can "love" an inanimate object I guess. 2012 XK-R, 51K miles. Kyanite Blue. Stupid gorgeous; I sometimes just sit in the garage and look at her.

I walked into the house from the garage the other night and said "I love you". My wife heard me and said 'I love you too". I told her I was talking to my Jaguar. We've had a quiet couple of days.

That is actually what I bought mine for, just to look at. The fact that she drives so well is just a bonus.

Purchased my '07 with 19,000 miles 5 years ago, now it has 45,000 miles and just as many smiles. Few issues, duckbill, catalytic convertor, battery related hiccups. I never see one driving around my town (small town). I still can't walk away without looking back. That says it all.

Lol, this made me laugh, in the case of my X100, my (American) wife knew how much I loved the car, and when we had an argument she threatened to take a hammer to it more than once (she always lost the arguments btw)

So I did the most sensible thing and got rid of her and bought an X150

How much you love your XK/XKR depends on how many times you look in your garage every night before you go to sleep.

Whoever said "Money can't buy happiness" never bought an XKR! Or a Golden Retriever.

MarkyUK,
When you said "got rid of her," did you mean the X100 or the wifey?

Wifey, as she was abusive, I could take it, but after we split she started taking it out on my kids (she was convicted for it) that's a different matter. I changed a well known phrase to: 'The evil that women do'

Anyway aren't all V8's male??

There comes a time when the only thing a woman has left is to be a b#t*h.

I can tell by the angle of the car that you are in no hurry to put it in the garage.

Isn't it! I averaged slightly over that on one leg of my drive down to the South of France in August. The leg was about 70 miles on the French autoroute system. It has an impact on the mpg though!

... and I usually hit 120 on nearly every clear freeway on-ramp before I hit traffic and must slow down....
