Default Seat control buttons - replacements available?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to get hold of (or re-furbish) seat control buttons on a 5.0 XK. The chrome is falling off mine, and they look awful. A jaguar dealer quoted £350 or so - I guess for complete control panels - but that's not viable. Is this unique to my car? My Jag specialist said they hadn't seen it before. Seems unlikely. Wouldn't it be nice is someone made some solid alloy replacements! I'm thinking re-furbed is the best I can hope for. No good trying scrap merchants as they only seem to sell complete panels, and they'd probably have a similar problem to mine anyway.

Fingers crossed.....

What year? Are the switches silver background or black background?

You are in luck, I have been watching these on Ebay thinking of changing mine to black, you can save my bank account. :-)

$99 each is the best deal I have seen for those, especially the 2012-up version like those.

Hope that helps,

Dave

Oops, I just noticed your location. Try contacting Neil at https://www.prestigecarpartsuk.com/ he seems to have a lot of the late model XK parts and good prices.

Cheers,

Dave

Worse case scenario you could buy those 2012 versions and pull off the buttons from it to swap on to yours. It depends on how bad it bothers you, I know it would me.

OH, you could then sell me the remaining black bases without the buttons, because my chrome buttons are fine. :-)

Just a thought,

Dave

Thanks for the help. I have the silver/grey background, with black/chrome buttons. Must admit, I don't want to go for the black background. I am wary of pulling those switch covers off. Had a try just now and they don't show any sign of wanting to budge. I'll probably try to get them off and get them re-plated, in which case, I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers

Paulsdunford. Let me know how you do getting them off (Is there a trick?) and where you are sending them off to. Dennis
