Default Seat recalibration?

Hello everyone,

In the XK, the seat should actually notice when you move it too far back and the seat backrest touches the rear trim. In other words, it automatically adjusts the seat backrest forward so that it doesn't squeeze against the trim. Under certain circumstances, such as when replacing the battery, the seat forgets how to do this... so the seat has to be recalibrated. The dealer can do this with SDD...but always charges a lot for it. I read in an English forum that a user had done this with the OBD tool AUTEL MaxiAP AP200.
Does anyone have experience in recalibrating seats? Does the recalibration even solve the "squeeze" Problem? Perhaps even with this OBD tool?

Best wishes
Nico

My 2008 xk never adjusted the lean back automatically.
A Foxwell 530 and up will do a seat recalibration.
also, if your vehicle is a 4.2 you can replace the seat control module with one from an xf of the same year and you will no longer have the calibration issue.

thx for replay...
but is a seat recalibration difficult to exceute (Whether it's an OBD app or device)? Or is it just...click the button "start" in the app/device...next next next...finish :-) ???

I discovered my passenger seat doesn't move anymore, so I have to flash that one. I just haven't because it's really not that important. I really should though, I have SDD. Too many other things right now take priority.

I have a Foxwell NT650 elite and every time I have tried to do the seat calibration with my device... it fails. idk why. Seat calibration and our model XK is listed in the device properly. My drivers seat cannot lean forward or backward after my battery change.
I know you can use a Foxwell and I am pretty sure I have seen a thread on someone also using a AUTEL to do this with success... so strange.

edit//- Am just now reading that with Foxwell the car should be running. I have not tried this, I will go to try it now.

Yep, leaving the car running worked perfectly and now my seat works again after like 4 months lol
