I was. Right now I have a Saab convertible that I never drive. I haven't driven with the top down in almost a year. In fact, the last time I tried to put the top down the rubber seals were stuck shut.
I think the XK coupe has stunning lines. I was tempted by a couple of convertibles, and if this deal falls through I still might end up with one. But for the next year or two I'm going to be driving a coupe.

Sorry! I was kinda busy yesterday.
I bought the car. It had an E-Diff error on the dash when I got there. I queried this group. They convinced me the the problem shouldn't be a deal-breaker. The dealer knocked $1500 off the price. He seemed like a genuine guy. We're both veterans. We talked about that briefly.
I drove home overnight. There were a few issues I didn't notice before I made the purchase, but nothing major. I'm going to start another thread about those issues and my drive home. The drive home is worth its own thread.

I sold it way back in 2012 or 2013. I wish I still had it.
This afternoon I was talking to my wife about buying another. I actually think buying one would be a good investment at this point, as long as it's in decent shape. They aren't losing value unless they are completely ragged out or they have stupid paint jobs and 22 inch rims. I don't want to buy one as an investment, I want to drive it and tinker with it. But as long as I took care of it I could probably sell it in 5 years and get all of my money back. In 25 years it will be a rare, beautiful car, kinda like the XKE's that at selling for 6 figures nowadays.

I sold my 2000 XK8 about a year after I bought my 2010. I got nearly exactly what I'd bought it for three years prior, other than tires and a Remote Top from Steve. Oh, and a new A/C low pressure line.
Price when I got it in 2010; $8745 or so, sold in 2014 for $8775.
Sometimes I wish I still had it, but then I drive the /R and I recall how sluggish and boaty the '8 was.
Sure was a pretty car though.
