Default Smell antifreeze in exhaust

2010 xkr with 72,000 miles. Im thinking head gasket. Just a little white smoke at start up but can definitely smell it up close. Once warmed up no white smoke. How screwed am I?

How is the level in the coolant tank. Also what is the level of the oil on the e-dipstick. Is it over full. Some white smoke is normal during start/warm up . What about your water temp. after warmed up. Head gaskets just don't normally go bad unless you overheated the engine. The smell can be from a leak somewhere other that a head gasket. Don't over think the concern.

Also, if that goofy plastic coolant manifold on the firewall leaks it'll most likely drip on the cats. Chances are something could be seeping and you are noticing it upon startup. White exhaust could be condensation with a little stink mixed in. Monitor the coolant level to get an idea of your loss.

Test the coolant for exhaust gasses which will be present if the head gasket is leaking.

The OP, Tonyqt, hasn't been on the forum for 2-1/2 years. This original post was his last ever.
