Default Spare wheel question

Am I right in thinking that ALL 19" equipped XKs do NOT come with a spare wheel?

The 2008 XKR I owned had 20" wheels and a donut, but I have this vague memory that the 19" cars had runflats and no spare, or regular tires and an inflator kit. No spare is a "no sale" deal breaker for me living here in the desert SW.

I guess it's possible to just buy a proper spare. Been there...

My 2007 XK has 19" Carelia wheels and a donut spare tire.

If the car that you happen to buy did not come with a donut spare, why can't you just buy one and put it into the spare tire well, along with the scissors jack and jack handle/tire lug wrench?

I believe XKs came with spare (option?) but XKRs did not, as the spare could not clear the Brembo brakes on the Rs.

It may depend on what model year you are talking about but the 2010 brochures state this:

Jaguar tyre repair system is not available with 19" or 20" wheels. The space saver spare wheel is required and must be specified instead

Not all XKRs came with Alcon Performance Brakes (Brembo calipers) - only 2008 and 2009 Portfolios. Alcons were standard equipment on the 2008 XKR Portfolio models and were a $5,000 option on the 2009 XKR Portfolio models. They were optional on other 2008 and 2009 XKR models but are extremely rare. They were not offered after 2009. Jaguar did not have a compact spare at that time that fit, so Alcon cars came with the inflator kit.

My 2009 XKR Portfolio convertible has Alcons and the inflator kit. I added a compact spare. Here's how to do it:
