Stay dry my FL friends.
I flew into Lauderale from the NY area tonight......it looked like bumper to bumper as far as the eye could see heading Eastbound.
My wife has been in Florida since August keeping an eye on the new homestead. We have been watching with great interest. 2 days ago, it was predicted to go directly over the new place, but that has adjusted quite a bit south and east. She was ready to hit the road this morning, but I think it's shifted south far enough that she'll stay put. I don't get to join her for a few weeks yet. Good luck to you guys down in Tampa and south. Also looks like it's going to track on up to Jacksonville.

I know I sound like an evil genius, but that was a choice she insisted on, not me.
Plus that hurricane zone is thousands of miles of coastline, so it would be pretty hard to pick the proper spot on the first try...

Got home today. Minimal roof damage, pool screens gone, mature trees tossed around like sticks. Boat was on blocks at marina getting a new engine and is fine. No flooding or catastrophic damage, so Ill call that a win. Right up to the point that the wife told me she curbed one of my new wheels. Power is still out and you cant drink the water. Internet is a dream at this point but the cell service is good enough to do basic stuff on the phone. No complaints from me.
