strange radio behavior
For the second time in the few months I have owned my XKR, the radio stopped working for a period of time. The CD player continued to work, and I assume the XM would work if I subscribed, only the radio stopped. On the nav screen during the period when it wasn't working, where my preset stations would normally be seen in the little boxes, there were only dashes indicating nothing was retained in the memory. So, I figured that like in my 2002 XKR where all sorts of electrical gremlins can be solved by restarting the car, I restarted my 2010 several times but each time the same thing happened, no radio. I left the car for about 15 minutes, and when I came back and started it, everything returned to normal. Has anyone else experienced this?
The other unusual occurance which happens everytime I make any kind of turn, accelerate or decelerate briskly, or use my turn signals is that the tone of the radio changes to a much clearer, treble biased tone only to return to a more fuzzy bass biased tone within a few minutes. Just bizarre! Can this be explained?

I haven't had the 1st problem that you describe so I can't comment on it. I do have a similar volume change but I think it is due to the set up of the audio. I thing there are 3 different "loud" settings that increase the radio volume based on noise level in the cabin. I notice it more in my convertible as the wind or other noise increases. It is not as much with the windows up but changes slightly. Check the settings and see what you have.

If it happens again, try locking the car before you start it again - the audio system stays powered up in 'convenience mode' for a long time after you stop the engine, unless you lock it.
Re the change in sound quality: perhaps there's a slightly loose connection somewhere that improves when the wiring loom moves a bit. However, that wouldn't explain why turn signals would affect it.
