Under my 2014 XKR, Dynamic R, looks brand new. I agree with you on the undercarriage wiring connections. I was going to wrap them in plastic, but I never take my car out in the rain or bad weather so it's not a high priority.
I remember reading a post along time ago about this same rust issue and a range of vin numbers had a TSB to replace the those rusted parts. You should go t your dealer to see about this.
thank you DGL,VERY helpful!
So I understand you have the same kind of bare wiring as mine-my car is also a Dynamic 2014-I will question the dealer here in Scotland and share with you their comment.
I also will question them about a possible TSB.My car is now in Spain but I will harass the local here if a replacement is due.
Thank you again.

No TSB for my car DGL but got told there has been issues with F-types.
Thank you for all the replies. Before After

I have seen several tests where wax-based (especially lanolin) {Cosmoline} vastly outperformed oil-based products. Mainly due to its adhesion and abrasion resistance. A pressure washer wont take it off.
You chose well.

I remember specifically this very issue with those exposed wires on the undercarriage before I purchased my car. I thought the new cars (at that time) could not have the same issue, but sure enough the brand new cars had the same issue. I was really turned off.....so much that I was thinking of methods to get those wires covered with those heat shrink covers.....but that too is not practical. This thread reminds me of it all over again... What a pathetic design to have wires exposed to the elements! Another reason to drive the XK on sunny days, stay out of water, and use my Lexus for everyday driving.
