Default Supercharger knock

The Jaguar garage serviced my 2010 XKR today (56,000 miles) and one of the comments on the invoice was that they heard 'supercharger knock' at idle. What is this and what should I do about it if anything, mode importantly, how much is it likely to cost me? I'm in the UK with a good Jaguar specialist close by. Thanks

Supercharger can knock? I've heard the front bearing whine. I'm the new owner of an 4.2 XKR. Any other supercharger related noises I should be aware of? The date who's asleep and snoring loudly isn't relevant.

It will definitely be the rubber isolating coupler in the nose on its way out. They are a well-known failure item on the X150 superchargers but not too difficult to replace and the newer versions are cheap and made of better "rubber" and last longer. Best replaced as soon as possible as if it fails completely then damage can occur.

The torque isolators are fairly inexpensive and not that bad to replace. Just need to remove the SC snout.

I had mine done at a dealer and the invoice mentioned a "snout kit" as what was replaced, so I imagine it's a few parts. But yes they said dealing with the supercharger itself (which is heavy and awkward to maneuver) is the hardest part. Apparently not an uncommon issue, and has been mentioned fairly straightforward.
What happened?
- I first noticed a knocking sound when I was standing outside the car and it was idling. Kind of an irregular knock, definitely from the upper part of the engine.
- I began to hear the knocking from inside the car on acceleration.
- finally, there was about a second or two of "after knock" when I shut off the engine.
They replaced it, all good.
