Default Thinking of selling my '08 xkr - what is avg. price?

Other than looking at kbb.com, does anyone have thoughts on the value of an '08 XKR private party sale in the US? Mine has 49k miles, is in very good condition. I just had it appraised at Carmax and was offer $22k which seems low. I have an offer from a wholesale buyer for $24k. I see some online for $29k or more.

Thoughts?

What cars are "listed" for has no relevance to "real selling price". You can check eBay completed items to see what they actually sold for or what they didn't sell for.

My .02 worth. Coupe, time of year, mileage, I'd guess from $25K-27 depending on color combo, options, history. Another good resource is "Autotempest.com" you can put in your parameters to get a better idea of what they are listed for but again that just asking price not what they sold for. Dealerships always advertise what's called the "idiot price" as do some owners with pride of ownership so disregard those. When selling something listing at the same price as others will likely yield little to no results as there is no compelling reason to call you unless it happens to be exactly what they want.

Thanks! I also like CarGuru.com, it offers some guidance of the deal based on market data I would assume.

I think you're estimate seems to be reasonable based on 'asking price' seen online.

Thanks

Very welcome. CarGuru is pretty good, Autotempest is great also but for some reason it doesn't show all the Craigslist listings... often times I'll see one locally that will not show up when using AT. Again also look at eBay "sold" listings instead of listed prices that gives the realistic view as to what they are selling for.

Usually sites like this one will only have people with "pride of ownership" listing cars at very high market prices, dealerships (looking for the fools to buy at high prices believing they have some intrinsic value for selling the cars but half the time they got them at auction and know nothing about them the other half is trade-ins that they low-balled, as they should, and still know nothing about the car) Craigslist can be scammers but they are easy to sus out. eBay can actually be really good to buy/sell but again be careful there

You live in Texas so it's not as weather critical as the north but still it gets harder to sell near the holidays then Spring time.

Glad to help, good luck
