Default Those 510 horses are gonna cost me

Just in the process of adding my incoming 2013 XKR vert. to the Allstate policy:
2016 XJ costs me now $704/ 6 months
2013 XKR is quoted at $922/ 6 months

Better be worth it in grins.

Ouch!
All I can say is, you must either be really young, really old, or live in a really bad neighborhood...

Or a bad driving record.

My 2008 XK is $602 for 6 months. We in Louisiana have some of the highest rates in the country.

It might be a high risk vehicle in his area. I.e there were only 10, and out of them they have had to pay out for fender benders.
I pay $500 a year with Amica, who dont hide that they are the most expensive. My XKR is the least expensive of any of my vehicles to insure.
Its like they know I would never put it in harm's way.

p.s. I just realized it may have to do with not parking in a secured garage. That was one of the questions on my ins form.
I wrote you would have to be retarded to break into my garage. And my garage is detached, i.e no fire or flooding risk.

What a coincidence, in today's news. Check out the video. Tracy should not be on the road.

That's downright cheap here in California.

In retrospect, you have a bargain.

My cost = $602 / 310hp = $1.92 / hp
Your cost = $922 / 510hp = $1.81 / hp

So you have a much better deal.

Yeah, very low deductible with top of the line insurer.
But excellent driving history, married, home owner, several cars** and garage I qualify as a neutered golden lab.
Maybe that's my bucket list, do a x-country Cannonball run and cash out with a mountain of tickets.

** its a racket, I can only be in one car at one time, so why the heck do I need 4x insurance??

Ok, a good reason to not move there!
My 2007 XK is $290 for 6 months in Illinois.

It surprised me too.
My cheaper cars cost more!!
They probably had very few claims for my model year and demographic.
Its definitely one of the cheaper cars to insure since most drivers are q-tips. HP has nothing to do with it.
Go look at a BRZ or some other punk's car, twice as much.

Renewal recently was 480 for 6 months for my 07 XKR Coupe and a 32yo female in Michigan, own and don't make payments, kept in my attached garage, perfect credit rating and no non comprehensive claims. I'm about a grand every six months for all 3 Jaguars for full coverage.

It's older and not as fast as a 2010, but worth it.

Auto insurance rates in the USA vary by location and driver age, gender, credit rating, driving record, vehicle model, crime rate, and other factors. Note that the OP is in New York City, where everything is expensive and it costs more to garage your car than many people pay to rent an apartment elsewhere. See: https://www.insure.com/car-insurance...nce-rates.html

Part of the due diligence in buying a car is to determine the cost of insurance. It pays to get quotes from multiple sources and bundle your auto coverage with your homeowner's/apartment dweller and personal umbrella liability coverages to maximize your multi-lines discount.

Not young, and not old, perfect driving record. Allstate is actually much cheaper than Geico I had previously.
My point and surprise was actually does it make sense for the 13 xkr rate to be much higher than the 16 XJ, when it's value is lower.

My insurance is $1,218 for six months on three cars with USAA. But looking at what some other people are paying, it might be time for me to look around.

I have State Farm for house and cars. They have classic/antique coverage also. I had a 1974 Pontiac Trans Am fully restored with agreed value that was $189 for 6 months. When I sold it and bought the 2010 XKR convertible they would not put it in their specialty insurance so it would have been $98 month for full coverage. I checked out Hagerty Specially Insurance. Being it’s not my primary vehicle and garaged kept. 6000 miles a year with the wife ion the policy at AGREED value of 26,500 it cost me $497 a YEAR. Keep in mind I’m over 60 without any violations or accidents in over 30 years. And yes I drive fast, just lucky I haven’t been caught.

Thanks for the tip, just got online quote from Hagerty. $1150/year, agreed value 40,000. Still steep, but much better than my Allstate number of over $1840/year
