Hello!

I'm a brand new member here, but I've been on here hours a day since I purchased my 2001 Jaguar XKR convertible a couple weeks ago. I'm from Minneapolis, MN so unfortunately I can't enjoy the beast for a couple more months, so I'm still riding around in my '95 Taurus (I can't wait!!).

I just called a jag dealer and found out my car was assembled in January 2001, so I'm pretty sure I have the plastic tensioners. He said I shouldn't worry, that he's only seen them break once in his career, but I'd still like to have the piece of mind and eliminate this Achilles heel.

I've seen references to a DIY .PDF that takes little mechanical skill and only 4-5 hours but I can't seem to find the actual document anywhere! I have a brother-in-law who's a big motor-head that would be able to help. Could I get a link perhaps?

My mistake. I just googled it with quotes and it was the first thing that popped up. I'm at 49,000 miles so I'll wait on it until around June.

That covers the '96-'05 cars. This one's for the '06 onwards X150 XKs, so there's less expertise on your car here.
