Default Tire Rub

I'm getting rear tire rub from my 12 Vert. It currently has 20" Sentas on it with Ventus V12 EVO2 tires. Rub occurs under verticle load on road dips or tight cornering. I notice it on both L&R sides as well. It is not as severe while in dynamic mode but still can occur. We live in the Smokies so there a lot of opportunities to experience the wheel rubs.

Our previous 07 Xk vert ran the same 20" wheels and tires but I can't remember ever hearing arch rub under those conditons.

I was just wondering if anyone else might be experiencing the same thing with similar set up or should I be concerned there is some kind of a suspension issue?

You didn't say if the rub was in the front or rear.
Your 07 and 12 have different rear offsets, due to the ediff in the 12, so if you ran the exact same wheels from the 07, and put them on the 12, that would be a source of concern.

It is rear rub though it is under more extreme conditions that it occurs. You're probably right that it is off-set that is causing this as the Senta wheels were left over from the 07. Guess they may just have to be offered up in the market place sometime soon.

If it's a minor rub in the outside of the wheel arch, you can roll that fender lip a bit and eliminate that rub. I did it myself years ago when I put 18" AMG rims on my 1993 MBZ 600SL, up from the OEM 16". You can rent the special tool that makes it easy, but you have to be careful and go slowly. Ah yes, I had to do that with a '65 Mustang I had back when. I believe the special tool was a ball peen hammer.

Took a nice 300 mile long day trip today through the mountains. Some spirited driving but only had a couple times where rub was present. I'm going to continue to monitor both the tire and arch for abrasion. If anything becomes alarming I'll have to figure out if I want to move on rolling the arch or going back to the stock rims.
