Default Top not down, trunk divider issue

I would guess this was talked about before, but couldn't find it...

A few times lately the top won't go down, warning divider not in place. But it is. When I go to trunk to verify it hasn't popped out (never has) and wiggle it very slightly, top can go down. Scary system...

Where is the critical point/switch/sensor? DIY or new divider? And in an emergency, how can one cheat the system to get the top down?

Thanks

There's a small metal clip on the left (iirc) end of the divider that has to be in place for the sensor that's mounted to the chassis in that same area to register that the divider is in place. Several have had issues with the clip moving around.

With a small metal bar in the left of the divider this is picked up by a proximity reader that is located in left hand side of the mount that the divider is placed into. It is almost like two magnets coming close enough together to sense each other. Connected to the the proximity reader in the side of the mount is a small wiring loom, easily removed it can be worth checking that none of the wires in this loom have started to work their way loose.
