As long as you know what you have, and are happy with it, that is all that matters!!!

Weird that they would charge so much more for taking more expensive components away??
Keep in mind that active exhaust is not the same as Performance Active Exhaust, the latter has x-pipe that jagtoes referenced and looks like the PO of your car tried to emulate that by welding in a piece of pipe across the two exhaust pipes on the mid-pipe section. I can't imagine someone having the factory/oem x-pipe and taking it out, but you never know?

Yep there is no back box which would be under the shielding. Also look under the rear fender to see if the vacuum pump and fittings are there which would indicate the PAE system. If not the standard back box would have had pressure opening exhaust bypass in the back box. How are your exhaust tips attached. Oh your alignment looks spot on. I just looked at my 2012 front shocks which are colored black and mount differently then yours. They have a barcode and a blue dot label on them . Also best as I can tell my front springs have a yellow paint mark on the bottom.

Just to clarify, as to not confuse anyone, including myself but don't all XKR's have the active exhaust (vacuum pump/fittings, fuse 19) The PAE is the addition of the x-pipe, so there should be no difference in the back box between the two. Correct?

That's not a factory setup.

Very weird, I'll tell you for why

1) The rust on the exhaust indicates it's been on a while and it's covered just 44k miles
2) It is a one owner car
3) The owner passed away in March 2017...not I hasten to add IN the car!
4) The car was in probate (kids arguing over estate) and not settled until Feb 18
5) Point 4 correlates with the last MOT done in Feb 18 and the car's done less than 600 miles since

My guess on the above would be that it's a factory exhaust, esp since the one/original owner paid Jaguar lots of money for an upgrade, so why upgrade an upgrade??

My imagination or does the diameter of my pipes look bigger than the other pics...perhaps need a female opinion here...or perhaps as mine has more colour??

Your current setup is not factory, that I am 99.9% sure about... If anything your current set-up was probably done to gain a louder exhaust... Looks like a Quicksilver Exhaust setup...

I would agree with that. The XK mid section looks similar but the angles aren't quite right so I would say it is an after-market cat back exhaust.

OK, but why would a 70+yr old pay Jaguar £1300 for a car supplied in 2014 and replace it in 2yrs? Here in the UK at least pensioners are not known to like LOUD unless they are deaf and can't hear it

Hey perhaps it was the sound caused by the quicksilver that caused his early expiration?

Will double check there's no backbox tomorrow...am reasonably sure that there isn't but will update

Defitnity looks like a xk system with a muffler delete (Weight saving I guess)

If you like the sound you should simply put in a merger pipe ie H-pipe

Here’s a shot of the front suspension on my 2012 Dynamic & Black pack. It’s not a Dynamic R, but appears to have the same yellow Bilsteins

Great looking ride by the way, enjoy it!

Thank you, at least we can say that the Bilsteins are from the factory

I will but already have a deep stone chip the size of my pinky nail, right in the centre of the screen in front of the wing mirror (the black bit) Taking it to a place to seal it today and stop it spreading

Have always wondered why posters requote pictures when replying...it just takes up space on a thread unnecessarily?

I don’t usually, for the reason that you mention, but wanted to show a side by side comparison in this case.

Bummer about the chip. Mine got rear ended two weeks after I bought it and rear ended again six months later. Both were so minor that the metal bumper wasn’t even dented, but I was beyond furious!

I can confirm that there isn't a back box, so it has to be an aftermarket one.

Would imagine I save a few kgs/lbs, so no bad thing and the exhaust sounds pretty good, cracks and bangs at overrun too...scared a few small children with it yesterday

Marky any chance of a recording interesting to see how it sounds running through factory cats and a single muffler

Steve not a problem but will do away from my house when I can, don't want to really pee off the neighbours (much more) as there's already a few green eye monsters about and don't want noise nuisance as well!

Not sure if you noticed, but the link I uploaded in post #87 has a video clip of what exhaust sounds like...

I also don't think the white one would look good with your black wheels. No wheel definition compared to the bright white color. They look like black holes in the bodywork.
I am really curious as to the white is always dirty concept. Maybe its the area of the country. Maybe its the body style? Maybe when a bit dirty but seriously...does my old car look dirty?
