Touchup of the silver plinth on boot lid
While I've got it off working on the loose release button I'd like to refresh the silver finish which has faded on the top edge due to sun exposure. My search so far is finding rattle can spray paint for $50+ per can!
I had a '91 Eagle Talon TSI and the silver alloy wheels had taken a beating. I was able to source a comparable color and finish in automotive paint that was under ten dollars at the local auto store. After using decal remover, primer and the finish color they turned out really nice.
Does anyone have an idea of a less expensive auto paint in silver that I can get to refresh this component? There's no other silver part on the rear so it doesn't have to match another piece. TIA

There isn't a rattle can of silver that is worth a crap. It doesn't look good in 99% of applications and it will NOT last. Very soft stuff.
Some people like the black-out look.
A better looking plinth may be obtainable as a used part from the many purchase option locations.
