Default Trac DSC is entertaining

This post is just for fun guys, I am not out street racing or anything! I have had my XK for a couple of months now, it is definitely a strong car. Having debated the XKR also and then decided I didn't need the extra HP, especially with my driving habits. The 385hp in my XK is still a lot of speed if you choose to turn on all the right settings.

The majority of the time when I get in my '12 XK, I enable Sport Mode, then set it for Trac DSC (first level of traction control off), then flip the transmission over to S mode. So I am running HOT baby. On my previous '06 BMW 650 it was capable of an identical setup, which I used 90% of the time. What I found out last night is that the one level off of traction control on the Jag allows for you to toss the rear end further than the BMW.

I took a 90 degree sweeper for fun under heavy throttle and ended up drifting pretty good. No biggie, it wasn't a spin out or even close to losing it, I know how to drive. Plus I have approached this maneuver carefully, this is the first test of the Jag traction control attributes under alternate states. It was fun though, fyi no traffic to consider, so all good. The BMW with one level off on traction would allow you some wiggle on the rear but stopped it before you were in a full drift. It was difficult to overwhelm the system and get the rear end out, you would have to throw the car into a hard 90 to do that, it wasn't capable of sliding because of hard throttle. Not true on the Jag, throttle plus curve equaled break-out.
