Transmission Lock-up
A few months ago I traded my 2005 Maserati 4200 for a 2010 XKR. Love the XKR. The other day I took it through a car wash where the protocol is to put the vehicle in neutral, foot off the brake. At the end of the tunnel, you put it in gear and drive away. I've been through this system with the Maserati, a Porsche, a Hyundai and a Lexus. No problemo.
This time when I got to the end of the tunnel, I was unable to turn the knob from N to D. It was frozen. I turned the car off, put it in P and started it. It then went into drive.
Before shut down, I tried foot on brake, foot off brake. Nothing.
Any ideas?

I can't comment on your issue. But, I will comment on using an automated car wash. My XKs and XKR have never seen the inside of a car wash. not good for the paint. Furthermore washing your vehicle by hand is a great way to inspect the car's surface.
