Turning ignition off?

Turning ignition off?
I've got a built in radar detector (Escort Passport 9500ci) and in order to do an update I need to "turn the ignition off".
Dumb question, but how do you do this in a 2010 XK-R?
I'm currently away from the instruction manual & the car on a business trip - my apologies if the answer is clearly in the manual.

It will depend on were the shop that installed the detector tapped into the wiring for the power source. If you press the start button without holding the brake down and the detector comes on with all the other accessories (radio ect...) then to turn it off would be to just press the start button again.
If they tapped into the same wiring that feeds the 12v Acc. power outlet in the glove box, this wiring is feed off the Battery Minder Module and turns off after a set time limit and reactivates anytime you open a door ect...
With my detector plugged into the glove box it always kills power when the car is not in use for a while (sorry I have never timed it so don't know the time frame) and as soon as I open the door it powers back up.
Hope this helps

Extremely helpful! Thank you.
I think given your excellent description that they tied into the 12v Acc. power as the detector comes on when the door is opened and the "leaper" appears on the touch screen, with the glove box light on - with or without the key present.
Now that it's cooling down in the garage, next time I'm home I'll try sitting in the car until all goes dark - hopefully that will trigger the update to recognize the ignition to be in the "off" state.
