Smile Twin BU light installation completed

I have now finished the UK BU light wiring installation. Both lights now controlled by reverse gear.
The wiring mod is very simple; locate the connector under the Hatch lower trim panel where the right + wire (orange and yellow and the left + wire (orange and green) run parallel to each other. Cut the left unit orange and green wire and reconnect the end that goes to the left light unit to the right orange and yellow wire using a Quick Splice Connector...............blank off the remaining orange and yellow wire (I used a red crimp butt connector!)....it's that simple!
If desired it would be very easy to restore original fog light installation.

Worst job is removal of lower trim panel even with the correct forked tool! Upper trim panel removal is easy; just use a flat blade (narrow trowel?).
I did wrap electrical tape around the QSC just to be sure to keep it secure
and no motion allowed.

Vince,
Do you think changing the LED/bulbs (there's 3) will change the color to white? They are both shown to be 3W. It is easy to remove Fog light without removing lower trim panel; just pull out hand hole insert. This gives access to light attachment bolt nut; other 2 are on outside.
I assume you want to play with my spare and not yours! right? only 4 plastic rivet heads holding circuit board & LED's together.

I'd rather you go first!!
You are welcome to look at it anytime...........

Cheers, Adrian

Thanks boss, No worries here, as I'm just jokin' with ya.

Actually i want just to opposite of yours. I want two red fogs and no clear backup! I know I can swap the clear LEDs for red LEDs, but just need to get the color and intensity (lumens) correct so they actually match.

I would then wire them to function in both backup and fog mode independently of each other. Figure two bright red lights should still be good for seeing while backing up.

A "someday" project...
Vince
