Default Upgrading navigation XKR 2007

The SatNav in my 2007 XKR is out of date so I bought a 2015-2016 DVD for the XK 2007+ models on eBay, link at the bottom. I have a feeling this is now not the right thing to purchase as it does nothing when I put it in the disc slot.

Any ideas on how to upgrade the SatNav in the 2007+ XKR models?

Thanks

Per the listing it's valid. I know it takes sometime to load initially. You may not be giving it enough time.

The car spits the disc out after about 20 seconds of nothing.

I hate to ask but where are you putting the DVD? In the DVD player in the boot correct? I presume you don't have the Navigation owners manual. I ask because I've read where some guys have put it in the CD player. Not implying anything so don't take offense.

Also the last year for the X150 update was 2014 not 2016.

I thought the sat nav changed in 2010 and they were different systems?

Also, I've never seen a factory price that low.

Interesting - when I click the link up comes a white screen with nothing on it. HaydenS, do you have a smart phone? If so why not use Google maps? I find it to be a better tool. Everything is up to date including traffic and construction information.

Back to the topic here. Did you look in the trunk to find the CD module so you can load the later version of the Nav. SW. I believe there is a cover over the module but wores case you need to remove the battery cover to get at it.

Google maps only works if your phone is charged and if there is a signal. I also find that the GPS in our Jaguars is much easier on the eyes and more intuitive as well.

I'd rather have the XK generation NAV than what is in my XE. XE keeps wanting the driver to use a SIM and have an account. Just too much BS, I just want a simple map & voice. Don't care where the next Starbucks is...

Yeah I tried it in there and it just did nothing, bogus disc waste of £30.

Well, I'd get in touch with the seller and see what they'll do. Should be able to get your money back if nothing else. Possibly it's an honest mistake.

If you bought the disc through Ebay, contact them. They will probably make an effort to make you whole. Good luck.

Hi, still new to the forum so I didn't know where to write. I recently bought navi DVD with EU '20 maps, replaced old '07 DVD in the trunk, message on the screens was about update of the software and that it takes up to 15 min to finish. I left it for almost half an hour, nothing didn't happen, still the same message, so I gave up.
What could have gone wrong? Is it even possible to update maps and software directly to the most recent version, or it must be done gradually? Was I only inpatient?

To answer my own post, everything worked out, just press 'continue' on install screen and it will install new software and maps. Everything is up and running. Patience is all you require.

At navigation.com there is a specific disk for the ‘07 model. Is that the disk you have purchased?

Actually, earlier today I answered to my own post, but it was not published, don't know why.
Everything worked fine after all. Disc remained inside the drive, and suddenly during the drive touchscreen reseted, and woila, new maps were installed. I guess it just proceded with installation in the meantime. There is a saying in my country, something like 'I was more lucky then smart' hehe

For North America, the most current X150 maps are available from Volvo, not Jaguar. See my posts ##5 and 25:

Europe is a much easier as we can still purchase 2019/20 nav update DVD's for our cars, I don't think (due to the vastness of the continent) that up-to-date mapping is available stateside.
