Great news, on any account. Great that you decided to share the outcome / solution. And certainly a great car, imho one of the greatest ever built in and beyond Great Britain. 😺

Just a quick wrap up on this post. I was able to get the wires addressed / repaired. The parking brake now works like a charm. Also, as I suspected / was hoping: cruise control now works! It seems jaguar doesn't want you to use cruise control if there's no emergency brake. It makes sense from a liability perspective.

Elhajj33, from your wiring exploration is there anyway having the top replaced could interfer with the parking brake wiring? I just had a new top installed and now can't engage the parking brake. The reset procedure changes nothing.

The broken wires were a result of a retainer clip that was missing and rubbing on the axle shaft. Thats what it looks like in one of the above pics to me.

I saw that too. My question is if there is wiring that could have been damage while installing a new top. I have disconnected the battery and gotten the
'apply brake and parking brake" routine but don't get the calibration mode. I have done the calibration mode before, after replacing brakes, without a problem.

@bborch1 while your issue is definitely different from mine, i think it's possible replacing the top would cause the problem you're having since the EPB module is in the center of the rear seat. I'd trace the wiring along the left side of the vehicle. Hopefully you can find there!

Thank you so much. That is what I needed to know. I was going to install the new top myself then decided I didn't need the hassel of figuring everything out. Now the deck lid is crooked, 12 DTC codes, and the parking brake fault. They did tell me they had to keep the ignition on to hold the top in a partial raised position. I'm thinking they ran the battery down then hooked up the charger backwards. Does that sound logical?
