Welp it finally happened, thanks DC!!!
I've owned my car for 1 and a half years now and the inevitable finally happened. I cracked my freekin rim. For those that don't know DC and Arlington/Alexandria have notoriously crappy streets.
I was driving last Saturday on Washington blvd going in to Arlington and
hit a large pothole and 60 seconds later my tire pressure monitor came on. Drove to the nearest gas station an my psi was 20. The air I put in would last about 4 hours at a time and I had to keep doing this until I found a reputable wheel repair shop. My wheel had 2 hair line cracks both of which were fixed at a total cost of $170 and I managed to avoid having to buy a new Senta.

Potholes and modern tire sidewalls put horrendous shock loads into rims. And it's worse if you have large distances between spokes, too many wheels are poorly designed with not enough spokes , IMHO.
Don't buy wheels with too few spokes; you will regret it!
