Default Disassembled the dash...wrapped the wood grain

Wrapped the wood grain today. Glad I had this done.

Yesterday replaced driver seat. Hinge connecting bottom and top part of seat broke and couldn't get it fixed. Had to buy complete seat

Swapped out the right hand front engine mount and to confirm C2D2745 is a suitable replacement for our xk series

It is also compatible with xf, xj, f-type in 4.2/5.0 & v6.configs ....with f-type obviously the AWD would require a totally different mount but that's irrelevant for our application.

Rack dropped, subframe released , engine lifted, under car braced removed all for access

Finally installed VelocityAP stage one hot sauce. Butt dyno says it works very nicely, all 565hp seem present and accounted for

Had my XKR into the dealership for engine auxillary belt and supercharger belt replacement, antifreeze, and spark plugs. On a previous visit, they'd noticed the number plate lights didn't work, but today fixed it by updating the Central Junction Box. Software issue?

My horn doesn't work. They said they were 99% sure it was a fault in the horns themselves, and will require pulling the bumper. Reading the forums here, it seems not uncommon for them to fail. Waiting on a quote for that service.

Today's service was the first entry in the second volume of my service portfolio book. After 13 years, the first one is finally full.

Default Service at the local JRL dealer

My 2007 XKR with 66k on the clock, needed servicing and since I’ve only owned it for a year, I wanted the JLR dealer to go over the car and tell me everything they saw. I do have history on regular oil changes but not of the other important items. Part of my ask was all coolant hoses including valley hoses, all belts, all 3 air filters be replaced and mount and balance 4 new PSAS4 tires.
After their inspection, they suggested replacing the pulleys. All suspension parts were tight, however the tie rod boots are starting to crack and they suggested that I considered replacing the tie rod ends in the near future. The tires were less expensive from JRL then I could get them online and the hourly rate was a very fair $175 usd per hour.
They told me that the underside is extremely clean and everything else was in good condition. Very happy with with my local Rochester NY JLR dealer and I especially appreciate the new PSAS4’s.

I have new center caps that I want to put on. Do they pop out or do you have to get behind them to remove them?

If you have a suction cup that fits or some very sticky and strong tape, you may be able to pull the center caps off from the front.

Popped mine right off with a screwdriver.

I was able to use a pick and they popped right off.
Issue is that the ones I bought on eBay were just a mm or two, too deep and don’t fit tight. They may be aftermarket. I considered giving them a wrap in electrical tape but I just don’t want to do that type of thing to my car. I’ll have to find oem center caps or just leave the faded ones on.

I watched my XK scream by the house with my wife grinning. All of our cars are at the next door neighbors house because the roofer needs our driveway for dumpsters and materials. She went to the bank and grabbed my keys instead of hers. She has a 2013XK but I think it was an honest mistake.

Default Transmission Service

Picked this up from ÜRO parts for upcoming transmission fluid and filter change. Like the idea of a reusable alloy pan. If I don't like it I'll put it on the L322 and get an OE pan/filter for the X150.

maybe longer. I'm liking the look over the burl. Still want to swap out the shift knob.

New alloy pan in place. Also did the mechatronic sleeve and seals while I was in there.

Several days and a large blood offering later, I got the coolant crossover pipe off the xkr to replace a hose. I had to drill the head off of a posidrive bolt that was gutted (not by me). I tried a screw extractor but couldn't get good purchase, and of course it was the hardest to get to!
