Is the highlighting the "premium sound" package misleading? Don't all XKRs with the exception of the Portfolio come with the same sound package?

Marcus,

There is a Premium Sound Package Option:

Click on Options ---> 2007 Jaguar XKR Vehicle Options

Car looks good. Just curious why the power antenna doesn't go all the way down. Also.....always good to check Carfax. Eventhough it might not catch all the accidents....hopefully it will catch the big repairs. Also....if you can find a Jag dealer who can help you pull up the service history for this vehicle.....similar to the SL55.

Thanks for the advice. What's confusing is how much the price seems to vary. For example

2007 Jaguar XKR Base, $33,977 - Cars.com

How do 30,000 more miles create a cost savings of $13,000

BTW, that Frost Blue is a beautiful color.

That may be a base price (retail) for an XK, but I can't see that as a base price (retail) for an XKR, unless they are then adding the cost of the superchargers, different tranny and and other stuff to it.

This XKR also has the optional adaptive cruise control, as evidenced by the right side of the steering wheel with 2 control knobs. Non-adaptive cruise models have only one control knob. Some people don't like this feature (I have it on mine, and like it), so be sure to drive it before you buy it.

I looked at the cars.com one and it has alot of cosmetic defects. Scratches inside the car and the paint around the "XK" logo looks pretty chafed. I'm guessing that and the fact that it's hitting major maintenance miles make part of the difference.

Off topic....I never knew the '07s had black Audio and Temperature button until I saw the pics from the link above. I always thought they had the silver buttons.

I would expect that price for a cpo at a jag dealer. I've been to their lot before and they have a lot of very nice cars. I would not buy from them without a ppi from a jag dealer and seeing it in person. The car looks very nice though.

The antenna is broken is why it doesn't go down. You can get the mast for $20. I've gone through two of them now. LOL

Looks clean but kind of high mileage and also missing luxury package, which IMHO makes the interior quite a bit nicer.

The price sounds VERY good. Just a point of reference. I bought in Jan 2010 an '07 XKR convertible with 59,000 miles for $44,000 with a Jaguar 100,000 mile certifed warranty. Hope that helps.

I don't mind. I only plan on having the car for 2 years max. How much would you offer the dealer?

after looking for an XFR for about 2 years, there are very few that didn't have the luxury package. Let alone have the 20" wheels. But then add add the adaptive cruise and premium sound...

just an odd combo! But I've never actually sat in a non-lux pkg car. But I'm told the leather is not as soft... I think the articulated seats actually look pretty cool.

Anyway, l'd bet the dealer paid somewhere around $28k for this car at aucton. so I think the price is a little high... personally I would not go near any Jag w/ this many miles and w/out a warranty. BUT if you can get into a car like this for around $30k.... I've seen many better low mileage examples out there for a little more money and w/ the Select Edition Warranty...

IMO - take your time, find some old fart like me that keeps his car in the garage and waxes it once a week! There's a lot of them out there, you just have to be patient.

I hope that helps (or is a least cohearant!)

Well, I like it, but as it's almost identical to mine I may be a little biased.

If you're just going to keep it for two years, I'd consider a CPO or get a warranty (the later of which may be tough with the miles). The last thing you want to do is sell it if you have to dump some money into it. I once did a 5 year lease on a Mercedes ML500 that had a 4 year warranty. First lease...not the smartest thing to do with the one year gap. Fortunately, nothing happened in the last year but I sure felt relieved when I finally turned it in!

If you are going to put a bid in, I'd probably offer $5K-$6K less and go from there. I'd also be prepared to walk if you can't shave at least half of that off their asking price. My favorite way to walk is to have to use the restroom on the way to leave. This let's them know you're serious about walking but gives the sales guy time to track the manager down and intercept you on the way out with a better offer (they don't want you to leave the lot). It's worked for me more than once!:icon_biggrin

All XFR's did not come w/ Premium Sound package. Most were all ordered w/ it (as well as Lux pkg), but I have found a few that did not have the upgraded stereo.

One of the Jag dealers in PA didn't believe me so he looked it up and he confirmed it was an option...
