Default What going on with this 2007 XK

Good evening xk owners from past xkr owner, just jumping over from the F-type owners page, so came across this 2007 in a carpark so called XKRS, think I'm pretty good on xk's after having 2 for a few years but to my knowledge it can't be. Did a background check and it comes in as 2007 xkr 4.2, now the inside is old style seats same as my previous xkr, although it has which was an upgrade the Alcon brakes, it seems to be a 2007 shell with a 2012 RS body, what your views, I know there was a 2008 RS which had upgrades and different wheels and body kit.

Powerhouse back in our forum? Holy Hellz!
Anyway, if it IS a fake, it looks to be a well executed one. Did you happen to notice the seat control panels, if they are all black or chrome trimmed?
Shifter vs puck? That would be a tough conversion.
An engine picture would have been nice.

I do pop in from time to time for a look it had standard J gate , no puck, when I first noticed it I just was in awe of how well it looked, it wasn't till later looking at the pics I thought it can't be right, there XKRS as I was aware was produced from 2012 on and bucket style seats and puck style gear change, I don't even think it had Alcon brakes, whole package doesn't add up
It just can't be an 2007 Xkrs in this body style , wasn't manufactured

If I had to buy a 2007, I'd take a nice hard look at that one.

Jaguar produced a Europe-only 2008 XKR-S for the final year of the 4.2L engine. (Yes, I know, 2009 was the final year of the 4.2L in North America). It's very rare because it was equipped with Alcon brakes, forged 20" Vortex wheels, and other goodies. For details, see:
https://www.autoblog.com/amp/2008/03...kr-s-unveiled/

Although it's not Powerhouse's car, he's in Ireland and I suspect that the car he photographed is in Ireland, too. I agree with him that it's not a real XKR-S. Because it has Takoba wheels, I suspect that it was wrecked and rebuilt as a 5.0L lookalike XKR-S clone, as the cost of the body parts to do so are very expensive.

Even though it's not a real XKR-S, it looks stunning! Well done!

Did another bit of investigating and it is indeed an import from the UK and was a private sale, can't get anymore info than that not even a web pic, from a far it had me fooled, but I knew it couldn't be, who ever did the work it was exceptional, the paint was flawless as if it was done recently, I was surprised the seats weren't changed to bucket type in the RS to match the outer, Im thinking it may have been a portfolio edition hence the brakes, anyway is must have cost a sweet sum to do all that work even changing front lights etc

Sorry to hear that. I’ve done business with Steve and he was very professional and helpful. That’s where I got all my RS bits.

The seats in mine are from final fifty as we have the 4.2 and the seats are from 5.0 cambo came up with a convertor harness a lot of hard work and on top of that we had to strip seats down and change all motors, sensors and modules (as I mentioned sour taste Cotswold never mentioned they were flooded)

My son stayed there for one night a couple years ago, he said he could only afford that one night. It was something he's wanted to do for awhile since he moved there to attend Trinity.

Default Rear spoiler ruins this otherwise beautiful XK

I'm not an expert, but the rear spoiler, IMHO, ruins the lines of this otherwise beautiful car. Can't tell if the exterior is British Racing Green or Emerald Fire, but if the latter, I'd learn to live with the spoiler. Love that color!
