So gents... What you like to be your next car to be?

I peronally would really like an Aston Vantage.. Just looks stunning.

or perhaps 991 R8 or a F Type...

Never new, perhaps 1 or 2 years old..

Why would you want anything different after an XKR?

F Type RS, Porsche GT3, DB9/Vanquish, Bentley Continental GT Speed, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta... Thats it... Other than the Porsche I love true GT cars, and there really aren't very many made.

Alfa 4C, Porsche Boxster/Cayman or 911. The XKR is great, but I think the Jaguar brand still lacks something truly engaging to drive. I was hoping the F-Type was going to be more of a back-to-basics lightweight fun tossable sports car, not the brute that it is!

I would wait until the new re-designed XKR reaches the market, or a Bentley Continental GT Speed, or Aston Martin Vantage V8.

I already own a 2014 Porsche Cayman 981, and love the car.

I will only shop for reliable easy to maintain performance cars to replace the XKR. I sold my last XKR, a 2011 175, and had to get another one. Within a month I had my current 2013 XKR with dynamic pack and performance exhaust on it's way. With the XKR apparently being replaced by the more upscale XR I will probably keep my current XKR a bit longer.

I'd like to get a Ferrari 458 Italia but they are very expensive to maintain and there are no dealers close to me. Before buying my current XKR I shopped Porsche 911 turbo S, Maserati and Nissan GT-R. The XKR puts that silly grin on my face like no other. Since after buying my current XKR in July, I've bought a Mercedes SLK 55 AMG and most recently a Nissan GT-R--both relatively reliable and easy to maintain cars.

Near future cars I have my eye on are Acura NSX, Nissan GT-R R36, F-Type roadster V8. Will replace the 2014 GT-R R35 and 2013 Mercedes SLK 55 AMG for them. 2013 Jaguar XKR is a keeper for now.

Thinking of putting my name down at my friend's acura dealership for the 2015 NSX with 3 electric motors and 2 turbos...Yeeehaw! Back to my ricer days...woohoo! He has already put down a deposit to replace his 997TT he sold a few months ago.

Might be interested in the Lamborghini Cabrera (Spyder version) when it unveils at the Geneva Auto Show in March. Or just wait for the 2016 redesign Audi R8 (Spyder version).

If I was doing it now, probably an XKR-S. Other options, which I considered & checked out before buying mine: Nissan GT-R and Aston Martin Vantage or DB9. Possibly a Vauxhall VRX8 GTS (UK-rebadged Holden Commodore HSV, a 4-door saloon with a 576 HP GM V8) for hooligan value.

However, I keep my cars for a long time, so I expect the market will be rather different when the time comes. I'm guessing it will be a hybrid of some sort.

For me it will most likely be a Walker followed by a wheelchair. I had my last toy for 14 years so this one will most likely be the last fun car. LOL Just being realistic.

Beyond what has been stated already...

I'd be interested in what Jaguar has at that point. I am 3-4 years off replacing the XK and I tend to buy used, at that. I'd be more likely to buy a XKR-S at that point. I love Aston's, but the current styling is getting long in the tooth. It's aged gracefully, but it has aged. Perhaps due to smaller size of their cars? XK generally look fresher than most of the Aston's to me. I'd like to see what comes out of Maserati or Alfa.

Personally, it's very unlikely I'd buy any German car; they're just not that cool. Brits and Italians are the only ones making cars that beautiful to me. I like where Volvo is headed, but I doubt they'll a drivers car as an option.

I agree with the German car sentiments. They seem to be lacking the passion of the Brits and Italians!

If I never had my XKR I would in get a low mileage XKR-S. One can get a low mileage 2012 XKR-S for less than $80K. Best used car deal available, IMO.

Interesting but so far I have not seen any 2012 XKR-S converts for sale at that price yet. I do see coupes but no converts. I would gladly get the S over the R if I can find one so we'll see what comes up over the next 3 months.

I would hardly consider any $80k used car a good deal, much less the best used car deal!

I'm so glad I have the vert...This car is awesome and even more so with the tune...total tunnel vision on full throttle. Plus its just plain beautiful in the green with tan interior.

I have no idea how I would top this car on my next purchase, at least in my price range...I am drawing a blank. Looks like I will have this one for a while.

Holy CRAP let me have them all!

-$80K Ferrari 458 Italia with 300 miles, I'm IN!
-$80K McLaren P4 C12 with 301 miles, I'm IN!
-$80K Mercedes SLR with 302 miles, I'm IN!

The list goes on and on...PLEASE, PLEASE PM ME WHEN YOU FIND ONE!

When you see these deals please let me know and I'll wire the funds...or be on the first flight in the morning to pick up my new ride. I can't wait to drive by a 2014 Ferrari 458 as the new owner first drives it out of the show room in my 2014 Ferrari 458 which I paid $80K for!

What's the difference between a show room no owner 2013 XKR with 300 miles at the dealer for $92K and a one owner 2013 XKR with 300 miles at a reputable dealership for $78K? The difference is $14K more in your bank account to use as you please. Both cars will have the same value 1 year from now if they are in similar condition. I bought my used 2013 XKR with 300 miles, loaded with factory performance options in July for below $80K from a Bentley dealer in West Palm Springs. The car was never even set in by the original owner who has so much money to spend he buys a new car every 2 weeks and doesn't even drive them.
