Default When does XKR exhaust cout out activate?

New to the Jag world, with my new to me ‘15 XKR being shipped to me. I tried to search, but couldn’t find the answer.

Under what conditions do the exhaust cut outs cut out the muffler? Yes, I worded it weird because when the solenoids are electrically engaged the cutouts are not cutting out?

thanks all,

drat..”cut out ” not “cout out”..

The post above by jahummer contains the info you’re looking for. As a side note, the exhaust isn’t solenoid activated, but rather vacuum activated. There is a vacuum pump located above and behind the left rear wheel well.
Another trivia point for you is that you can permanently open the exhaust valves by pulling fuse #19 in the panel between the rear seats.

Btw…I confirmed that whenever the magic “Dynamic” mode is activated, the cutouts are open. And man does the beast roar then!!!
