Not necessarily. A few key differences:
  1. 2008 XKR Convertible with a few lower miles vs. a 2009 XK coupe
  2. XKR has OEM Jaguar Selena wheels (expensive) vs. XK with aftermarket Coventry Whitley wheels (inexpensive).
  3. XKR has upgraded LED taillights (expensive) vs. XK with original taillights with only one backup light.
Value, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer the XKR because I enjoy the wind in my hair ... while I still have it! Woohoo!

Nice E-Type on that 'bring a trailer' site. Strombergs though.

In my opinion, the '67s were the last and greatest. The Feds even "touched them" in the form of mandating the removal of the covered headlights as a first step. Mine is affected that way.

That red box looks like a Mallory HyFire Capacitive Discharge ignition system. It's not a Lucas part, so did the Feds mandate that, too? Just kidding.

Back in the day, I added a similar CDI box to my 60 Vette together with a Mallory dual point distributor, Hooker headers, Holley 3310 and a few other goodies. Sometimes I miss that car, until I'm driving my XKR. It's crazy topsy-turvy, because today my old Vette is worth at least twice as much as my XKR, although the Vette is less than half the car as the XKR. Go figure.

Ah. Triple SU's I spent many an wasted hour trying to get all three SU's sucking the same amount of air at idle. I've forgotten the name of the 'tool' that you held over each intake that had a 'flow' tube on it.

Amazon Amazon

Never knew why they omitted the glass covers over the headlights till now. Did know why they did away with the three ear knock offs though. Poor reasoning by some commitee. Also the loss of the toggle switches was a mistake imho. The car looked better with the toggle switches vs the rocker ones.

I had a '59 MKIX once with the 'Jaguar' hood ornament mounted on the hood. Darn safety commitee got rid of those too. Might impale somebody when you hit 'em. Now that was a solid body on that car. If you hit somebody with that car, the least of his worries would be being stabbed by a Jag hood ornament.

Reminds me of Oscar Wilde's take on critics - "they know the cost of everything and the value of nothing"

Funny and tragic are opposite sides of the same coin. You can't really appreciate humor without having experienced sorrow, and vice-versa.

My old Ferrari group used to cry over this one.

There is a short rubber hose about 6-8" from the fill cap to the left side gas tank. Usually most don't change it and it rots out. It splits and fuel goes on the hot engine and pow.

Anything in the interior that chrome shiny or could poke an occupant during an accident was banned with the 1966 safety act. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation...cle_Safety_Act Took a couple years for it to go into full effect. Look at '67 model cars compared to '68 models and you'll see the differences.

These mishaps look like a blessing when you read what happened to this Jaguar lover.

I wonder what would match the Ferrari F50 that was wrecked by the U.S. government when agents took it for a joy ride?

Apologies!, ever how late,...... My Comment "Who's selling their cat", was not to promote this forum as a classify for selling their Jag, but, to ask as a general question as it appeared in BaT.
