Has anyone run into a smell coming the ventilation system. It's only when the blower is running. I had the Cabin filter replaced and the dealer has sprayed a deodorizer/disinfectant through the ventilation. It was great for a few days, but now I start to smell it coming back. It's hard to actually describe a smell with words. But it's kind of like some kind of fluidly mechanical metallic kind of smell.

I was wondering if it's possible for me to spend the time to get into the ventilation tubes and clean them out? if that is possible.

Any help would be appreciated

 

iarrowsmith, is it kinda a sweet smell? if so, you have a coolant leak. Could be something simple as a loose connection on the motor or it could be something serious like a heater core going bad (requires removal of the whole dash, major job). I would also get out and under the car and see if any fluids are dropping on the exhuast pipe. Something like a little bit of oil on the exhaust can create quite the smell for a long time.
