will high fuel prices affect XKR resale values?
Me 😁 I drive it everyday. Put about 24k mi on it since I bought it late 2020. Fuel price here is about ~4.50US/gal, so bit pricey but not horrible. Had a Ram 2500 that got way worse fuel economy and not near as fun to drive.
My gas price jumped from 3.39gal last week to 4.09 this week. Gas prices raised while the oil is still enroute... nothing new but profit takers should be brought under control.
wj
I bought an 2015 F Type R two weeks ago knowing that gas prices would go up with the "war" immanent. It was the least of my worries when considering buying an F Type. So, no, I doubt fuel pricings will dissuade anyone making a clearly emotional purchase. LOL
In April 2020 the demand was so low that price of oil was negative but, of course, gas wasn't free since it still costs money to process, transport, and store.
That said...I'm still cynical enough to think that some profit taking is happening, but I'm fine with it since they are looking at significant risk and volatility for the foreseeable future. Not a business I would want to be in right now.
Edit: Oh, and I have no intention of selling my XKR any time soon. I'll still take it for scenic drives when the weather is nice no matter how much the fuel costs.

The price of gas will and should go alot higher as Russia becomes more isolated from oil and natural gas embargoes. Over 70% of Americans support an oil and natural gas embargo on Russia. The world needs to stop feeding Putin's deranged agression. Paying more for gas is a small cost for world peace and humanity.
The US and Canada have vast resources of oil and gas. They just need a bit of time to start pumping and adjust. Canada holds all the oil America needs with no way to get it to market because of political choices. The Keystone XL pipe line was concelled with only 6 months to complete it. Even Elon Musk who manufactures EVs said we need a buffer infrastructure for energy stability. Politicians think short-term.

Premium fuel like we use in our XK/XKRs has now reached $6.00/gallon in Los Angeles. Yesterday, when I filled up my tank and crossed the $100. barrier, I did think about it. And although it won't stop me from driving my XKR everyday, I will probably be pickier about the trips I take, eliminating the more unnecessary ones. Would even higher prices persuade me to sell my XKR? Of course not! I would sell my Pantera and my GTO before I would get rid of the XKR. Someday when I pass, it will still be in my ownership, it's been that enjoyable a car to own and drive.
My advice would be that if you want one, find a good one and buy it now, and then enjoy it. Counting on gas pricing to bring the value down will only mean you'll be making up the lower purchase price (if it happens) with higher operating costs. And during the time that you're waiting to see if prices drop, you'll not be enjoying a truly fantastic automobile. How much is happiness worth?

Of course there will be people who decide to not buy V8 gas guzzlers when the price of petrol increases. This cycle happens every time there is a run up in fuel prices. Will it be enough to affect the price of the XK or XKR, who knows about that when the price is already inflated because of used car demand. It usually does affect new car purchases, people move to buying EV or more fuel efficient vehicles.
I hate all politicians and their decisions are usually self serving, but this run up in gas price is simple to see. I look at the current record profit level of the US oil companies and the huge bonuses paid to their fat-cat executives. Price of gas does not affect me, but I am not poor, as it doesn't for many on here. It is profit taking at the expense of the consumer and it most hurts lower income. The US Gov't doesn't control oil output, private companies do and they are setting the levels to best benefit themselves. Yeah they spout off about pivoting to clean initiatives all the while pumping 16% less than 2019. Add market uncertainty and it gets messy.

Meh....I have twin 502 8.2L motors on my boat and a 297 gallon tank. If it needs to be fed, it needs to eat. IMHO, a car is an extension of you, and I aint no Prius driver. Its expensive to be vain hahaha.
In my view (and experience), the XKRs are remarkably efficient cars when used as GT cars. This changes only when they are abused to compete with 911 Turbo’s on tracks which they were not designed for.
And, btw, yesterday morning Diesel at a German Autobahn gas station at 2.669 Euro/liter.

The XKR gets fair mileage per gallon and I don’t drive a whole lot anymore. An extra $ 20 or more a fill up is no big deal to me given the high fun per mile the car provides (and way beats walking to the market.)
As with lear60man’s boat, filling our 275 US gallon heating oil tank next week will be a chunk of cash as yesterday’s state average was $4.88/gallon. Heat and hot water for the house are not optional though but at least that fill should get us to the Fall.
